Robert Cross has over 30 years' experience in federal and state court litigation of complex business, financial and real estate cases, including disputes over trade secrets and intellectual property, shareholder rights, liabilities of officers, directors and partners, creditors' rights, bankruptcy issues, unfair competition, real estate sales, development & construction, and trusts & estates. He has handled a wide variety of jury trials, as well as numerous commercial arbitrations, non-jury proceedings and appeals.
The breadth of Mr. Cross' practice is illustrated by his most recent jury trials, which involved claims of corporate director misconduct, real estate fraud, and dependent adult abuse & undue influence. In addition, he recently obtained a $28 million settlement of disputed taxes from Chevron Corporation on behalf of the City of Richmond.
Mr. Cross counsels business owners and managers on real estate, contract and corporate governance matters. His business bankruptcy and creditors' rights practice includes advising creditors and debtors concerning the resolution of troubled financial situations and representation of creditors, trustees and receivers.
Mr. Cross' clients include substantial domestic and foreign corporations, municipalities, smaller businesses, and individual owners, officers and professionals.
Mr. Cross is active in various nonprofit organizations and boards of directors, including service as immediate past President, The Lawyers' Club of San Francisco. He also serves as a Judge Pro Tem and arbitrator for the San Francisco Superior Court, and as an arbitrator for the Attorney Fee Dispute Committee, Bar Association of San Francisco.
