SAN FRANCISCO, November 14, 2007 -- Sideman & Bancroft LLP Partner Jay Weill was honored on Nov. 9 with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Investigation Chief's Award, the highest honor criminal investigation can bestow, at the 2007 ceremony in Dallas.
The ceremony, attended by 120 IRS criminal investigation senior managers, honored individuals whose services substantially exceeded the normal standards and expectations and resulted in the successful accomplishment of the IRS' Criminal Investigation Mission.
Weill was honored for his many years of professional and committed legal support to the cases forwarded by the IRS criminal investigation divisions, ranging from tax fraud and evasion to money laundering. Weill also was lauded for his work on civil cases, including fraudulent conveyances, lien determinations, summons enforcement, bankruptcy and collection matters.
"Jay's extraordinary 30-year career with the U.S. Attorneys Office, as well as his enduring dedication and commitment to the IRS criminal investigation division, make him incredibly deserving of this high honor," said Chairman Richard J. Sideman. "Jay's countless accomplishments and success in the public sector bring tremendous value to our private sector clients, and we're fortunate to have this expertise just down the hall."
