SAN FRANCISCO, December 4, 2007 -- Sideman & Bancroft LLP Partner Diana Richmond is named the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS) Hall of Fame Award winner for 2007. The Hall of Fame Award, created in 1991, has been bestowed upon only 16 other attorneys, all of whom exemplify outstanding service in the family law community.
Richmond, who has 34 years' experience, leads Sideman & Bancroft's family law practice, which encompasses complex marital property issues, spousal and child support, child custody and premarital agreements. Experienced at both trial and appellate levels, Richmond works as a mediator, settlement conference facilitator or private adjudicator for family law and related controversies. Prior to joining the firm, she maintained a private family law practice for more than 23 years.
Richmond has received numerous recognitions for her work in family law, including being named one of the "Top 25 Attorneys in the Bay Area" by the San Francisco Chronicle (2003), one of the top two Bay Area family law attorneys by The Recorder, and recipient of the Bar Association of San Francisco's James P. Preovolos Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service in Family Law (1999). Richmond has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1981 and has been named in The Best Lawyers of America for 25 years.
A noted author, editor and speaker, Richmond has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law since 1980. Richmond has been editorial consultant to Kirkland, Lurvey, Richmond & Wagner, California Family Law Practice and Procedure 2d (Matthew Bender) since 1994. She received her J.D., with highest honors, from Golden Gate University (1973) and her B.A. from the University of Chicago (1967) and received the first Judith McKelvey Award for outstanding alumna of the law school in 1985, as well as the University's Outstanding Alumni Award in 1990.
