The Federal Trade Commission has released a report recommending that developers of mobile apps for kids reveal more information about how their programs collect and share users’ data and make these disclosures easy for parents to find. “The FTC has clearly signaled its intent to step up enforcement of its privacy regulations, and specifically those implemented under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, against developers of mobile apps directed at children,” said Sideman & Bancroft partner Polly Dinkel.
