Emily Yip is a senior associate in the Family Law practice group. Emily focuses her practice on family law matters, including high net worth dissolution actions; child and spousal support; complex property division; and premarital and postmarital agreements.
She was a founding executive board member of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association and served for two years as co-chair of the Asian American Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Committee. She has enjoyed serving as a volunteer attorney with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach and local bar associations, and served as a supervising attorney for the Golden Gate University, School of Law Externship program. She is a member of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area and the San Francisco Bar Association Family Law Section.
Prior to joining Sideman & Bancroft, Emily practiced family law at Hedani, Choy, Spalding & Salvagione in San Francisco and as a sole practitioner.
Emily grew up in San Diego, California. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. She worked for several years in the medical device industry before attending law school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She loves living in the Bay Area, but has fond memories of living in Portland, OR, Madison, WI, and Hanoi, Vietnam.
