Gina Cortese focuses her practice on family law and specializes in the financial aspects of dissolution actions including complicated valuation and financial matters, complex community property and support issues, and international issues.
In addition to Sideman & Bancroft, Gina has practiced at a premier family law boutique firm in the Bay Area and at the City Attorney’s Office of San Jose. Gina draws on her prior experiences in civil litigation and representing corporations to effectively advocate for her family law clients.
Gina is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, Santa Clara County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the National Italian American Bar Association. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Achenbach Graphic Arts Council since June 2017, and currently serves as Treasurer. Gina is licensed to practice in Washington D.C. as well as California.
Gina earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. She graduated with an International Law Certificate with honors, and also received a CALI Award for Excellence in Mediation Theory and Practice. While in law school, Gina served as a legal clerk at Wolfe & Wyman working on civil litigation matters. She has also served as a fellow at the Panetta Institute for Public Policy. Gina studied abroad at the National University of Singapore School of Law, and worked as a summer associate at a non-governmental organization in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
