Robert Cozzolina collaborates with clients to formulate an effective anti-counterfeit strategy that includes establishing an intelligence-based global customs interdiction and investigations program. Mr. Cozzolina has extensive international experience with a unique track record in government and business, and operational vision and a capacity to build and administer plans, programs and courses of action.
Prior to becoming a member of the Sideman & Bancroft team, Mr. Cozzolina managed the global cross-regional anti-counterfeit investigations program at Hewlett-Packard Company. That work included developing Customs programs in the United States and in many countries around the world, training Customs officers, identifying and training investigators in all regions of the globe, and delivering returns in the form of seizures of millions of dollars of counterfeit products and disrupting the flow of counterfeit products to the advantage of the brand owner.
As a former U.S government federal investigator and manager he has extensive experience in planning, executing, and directing domestic and international investigative programs pertaining to international money laundering, violations of import and export laws and regulations, narcotics, and commercial fraud schemes including but not limited to counterfeiting. Mr. Cozzolina spent 6 years assigned to the American Embassy in Rome, Italy where he conducted international investigations in the Mediterranean basin, Middle East and a large part of Africa for the U.S. government. He also spent 3 ½ years assigned to the American Embassy in Riga, Latvia where he administered an international assistance program for law enforcement in the Baltic States and Poland. In addition, Mr. Cozzolina was the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the US Customs offices in New York and New Jersey for over 5 years. Mr. Cozzolina has received numerous awards and commendations while serving in the government.
