Sideman & Bancroft Expands Family Law Practice with Addition of Two AssociatesSeptember 2019
“We’ve been looking to add attorneys of Emily and Paige’s caliber to our team for some time now,” said Family Law Partner Monica Mazzei. “Both have a unique set of skills and experiences that will complement the comprehensive approach our group takes to the complex financial and emotional issues facing our clients.”
Emily Yip joins Sideman & Bancroft as a senior associate and will focus her practice on high net worth dissolution actions, child and spousal support, complex property division, and premarital and postmarital agreements. She comes to the firm from Hedani, Choy, Spalding & Salvagione in San Francisco where she worked as a sole practitioner. Ms. Yip was a founding executive board member of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association, held a two-year position as co-chair of the Asian American Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Committee, served as a supervising attorney for the Golden Gate University School of Law Externship program, and has volunteered with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, among other local bar associations. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001 and earned her Juris Doctor in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.
“We believe our clients will really appreciate and benefit from their approach and demeanor,” said Anne Cochran Freeman, Family Law partner. “Emily and Paige have both demonstrated a strong passion for their work and ability to forge solid connections with families during emotionally complicated times. We’re very excited to work alongside them both.”
Paige Garcia joins Sideman & Bancroft as a junior associate and will focus her practice on a wide range of family law matters, including child custody and visitation disputes, child support, dissolution of marriage and domestic partnership, and domestic violence prevention. Before joining the firm, Ms. Garcia worked at Rathmell Saunders, LLP and prior to that was an attorney for the Sargent Shriver Custody Project, which provides legal representation to low-income litigants in child custody and visitation cases. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2012 and earned her Juris Doctor in 2015 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she served on the executive board for the Business Law Journal.
