Sideman & Bancroft is proud to announce that Travis W. Thompson has been recognized by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation with the prestigious John S. Nolan Fellowship for 2019-2020. This fellowship is awarded annually to up to six young lawyers who are actively involved in the section and have demonstrated leadership qualities.

“The ABA Section of Taxation plays an important role in educating both its members and the public about taxes and tax systems,” Mr. Thompson said. “I’m grateful for this recognition and the support I’ve received from the Section, and am privileged to help further its very important mission.”

Mr. Thompson, an associate in Sideman & Bancroft’s Tax and Criminal Defense practice groups, has a wealth of experience representing clients in litigation in U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Court of Appeals and California state courts. His tax work includes audits, administrative appeals, litigation and both routine and complex collection matters.

The Nolan Fellows were announced at the Tax Section’s May 2019 Tax Meeting in Washington, D.C. As part of their one-year fellowship, each fellow will participate in both pro bono work and activities geared at attracting and helping young professionals integrate into the ABA Tax Section.
