Korina Buford is an associate in the Brand Integrity and Innovations Group, the Litigation and Appeals Group, the Blockchain and Digital Assets Group, the Business Group, and the Intellectual Property Group. Touching on all aspects of brand protection, including trademark counseling and anti-counterfeiting enforcement, her practice focuses on protecting innovation and championing integrity and creativity in the marketplace.
Ms. Buford joined Sideman & Bancroft as an intern in 2023. She earned her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law (USF). While in law school, Ms. Buford served as a clinician in the Intellectual Property and Internet Justice Clinic, protecting and advising clients in their trademark, copyright, and patent disputes against Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, Ms. Buford served as the Secretary for the Black Law Students Association, and was an Editor in the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal. Ms. Buford honed her litigation skills by participating, for two years, in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition where she was awarded second runner-up for “Best Brief”. Her keen interest in oral advocacy was reinforced the summer of her first year of law school, where she participated in USF’s Intensive Advocacy Program (IAP), receiving the Edward McFetridge award for “Creative Trial Strategy”. She was also a Fellow for the Center for Law, Tech, and Social Good (formerly known as the Blockchain Law for Social Good Center) at USF.
Prior to law school, Ms. Buford received her B.A. in Philosophy, with an emphasis in Ethics, Public Policy, and Technology Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Ms. Buford is actively involved in the intellectual property community, and currently serves as a member of the Barristers Club, Intellectual Property and Internet Law Section, of the Bar Association of San Francisco. Additionally, Ms. Buford is a member of the Earl Warren Inn of Court.
