Sideman & Bancroft is delighted to welcome Korina Buford as an associate attorney. Ms. Buford’s practice spans multiple groups at the firm, including the Brand Integrity and Innovation Group, the Litigation and Appeals Group, the Blockchain and Digital Assets Group, the Business Group, and the Intellectual Property Group. Ms. Buford handles all aspects of brand protection, including trademark counseling and anti-counterfeiting enforcement. .
Ms. Buford joined Sideman & Bancroft as an intern in 2023. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she distinguished herself as a clinician in the Intellectual Property and Internet Justice Clinic, advising clients on trademark, copyright, and patent disputes. She also served as Secretary of the Black Law Students Association and as an Editor for the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal. Her excellence in litigation and advocacy was evident through her participation in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition, where she earned recognition for “Best Brief,” and her receipt of the Edward McFetridge Award for “Creative Trial Strategy” in USF’s Intensive Advocacy Program.
Ms. Buford is also engaged in the intellectual property community. She is an active member of the Barristers Club’s Intellectual Property and Internet Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Earl Warren Inn of Court.
Prior to law school, Ms. Buford earned her B.A. in Philosophy, with an emphasis in Ethics, Public Policy, and Technology Management, from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
