Sideman & Bancroft is proud to announce the opening of our new Washington, D.C. office, a strategic expansion that strengthens capabilities and reinforces our national leadership in brand protection and complex litigation. We are thrilled to welcome Marissa Bostick as the office’s inaugural Partner and leader.
Marissa brings an extraordinary depth of experience to the firm, shaped by her work at the intersection of global enforcement, government service, and private practice. She joins our Brand Integrity and Innovation Group (BIIG) and will serve as a key member of our litigation and brand enforcement team.
Before joining Sideman & Bancroft, Marissa was a founding member and Deputy Director of Amazon’s Counterfeit Crimes Unit (CCU), where she served as the single-threaded owner of all litigation globally. In that role, she led over 100 active civil cases across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC regions, while managing criminal referrals that led to raids and criminal charges against counterfeiters and their networks worldwide. Marissa also served as Global Head of Litigation for the Motion Picture Association, directing international civil and criminal litigation efforts targeting copyright piracy and intermediary liability.
Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, focusing on international criminal networks and complex financial fraud, and was a Fulbright Scholar teaching criminal law in Eastern Europe. She also taught at Villanova Law School and began her legal career at O’Melveny & Myers in New York after earning her J.D. from Columbia Law School.
“Opening a Washington, D.C. office marks a significant milestone for Sideman & Bancroft and positions us to better support clients with matters that intersect with federal enforcement agencies, policy, and cross-border strategy,” said Jeffrey Hallam, Managing Partner of Sideman & Bancroft. “Marissa’s exceptional background, from federal prosecution to pioneering global brand enforcement at Amazon and the MPA, gives us a new edge in helping clients protect and grow their brands worldwide.”
With Marissa at the helm, the D.C. office will initially focus on high-impact litigation, brand protection, and global enforcement strategies, with room to expand as client needs grow.
Please join us in welcoming Marissa to Sideman & Bancroft.
