Sandy Price presents “Transferring Assets at Death: Do You Really Need Probate?” at the AIDS Legal Referral Panel

It may not be necessary to have an Executor appointed and to open a lengthy and cumbersome court-supervised probate proceeding in order to transfer ownership of assets from a decedent to his or her beneficiaries or heirs. This program will provide a framework for analyzing whether a probate proceeding is needed and participants will learn when and how to use the numerous short-cut and summary procedures available to potentially avoid probate.
