SAN FRANCISCO, January 27, 2011 – Sideman & Bancroft LLP, one of the largest women-owned law firms in America, announced today that Alisa Won has joined the firm’s Corporate Group as a partner. Won was previously a partner at Winston & Strawn LLP where she focused in the corporate securities area.

Won will continue to assist clients with securities issues, representing emerging and established public and private companies in financings and merger and acquisition transactions. In the course of her career she has regularly advised senior management and boards of directors on governance, fiduciary and disclosure issues. Won represents both domestic and international clients in software, e-commerce, semiconductors, energy, digital media, medical devices, consumer products and financial services transactions.

“Sideman & Bancroft is fortunate to be gaining such a well respected attorney with broad, extensive experience and a proven track record of success,” said Founder Richard J. Sideman. “Alisa’s work with governance issues, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, growth equity and venture capital transactions is of the highest caliber, and her tireless attention to clients’ needs aligns perfectly with our firm’s values.”

“I’m extremely excited to be joining a team of such sophisticated and experienced attorneys,” said Won. “Sideman & Bancroft is widely known for, and I was impressed by, its exceptionally high level of service to its clients, and they have cultivated an impressive list of corporate clients. Equally important and impressive is the firm’s culture – these are attorneys with whom it is a pleasure to work. The choice to come aboard was an easy one.”

Won earned her J.D. from Georgetown University in 1993, and is admitted to the California State Bar Association. In her spare time, she plays tennis and studies classical piano. Won became an Advisory Trustee to the May Treat Morrison Chamber Music Foundation in 2010.
