Sideman & Bancroft LLP is pleased to announce the recent addition of three attorneys to the firm’s San Francisco office

Kathryn L. McCall joins as a Partner in the firm’s Business Group; Maria C. Garrett, an associate, will work with Sideman’s Family Law Group; and Ryan Fox, also an associate, joins the firm’s Intellectual Property, Business Crimes and Government Investigations, and Brand Integrity and Innovation Groups.

Kathryn L. McCall
Prior to joining Sideman, Ms. McCall was Of Counsel with Carr & Ferrell LLP in Menlo Park, California. She specializes in corporate and securities work with an emphasis on equity financings, debt transactions, securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions and general business matters.

With Sideman’s Business Group, she will continue counseling emerging growth companies, entrepreneurs and investors in connection with all aspects of the corporate life cycle, including formation, corporate governance, day‐to‐day operations, employment matters, equity incentive plans and liquidity events.

Prior to Carr & Ferrell, Ms. McCall worked at Jackson & Wallace, the Immigration and Naturalization Service and Time Warner, Inc.

Ms. McCall earned a B.S. from University of Southern California in 1987 and a J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1995.

Maria C. Garrett
Ms. Garrett joins Sideman’s Family Law Group after serving as a summer clerk at Whiting, Fallon, Ross & Abel LLP and in the Family Law Division of Bay Area Legal Aid. Prior to law school, she worked at Josiah‐Lake Gardiner LLP, a family law boutique firm in London.

Ms. Garrett earned a B.A. from Wellesley College in 1998, a M.A. from University of Chicago in 2003 and a J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. During law school, she was a research associate for family law Professor Melissa Murray and a recipient of the Jim Fahey Safe Homes for Women Fellowship and of the Herma Hill Kay Fellowship. In her second year of law school, Ms. Garrett helped to found the non‐profit organization Family Violence Appellate Project. She sat on the organization’s Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014 and remains Chair of their New Leadership Counsel.

Ryan P. Fox
Mr. Fox, now an associate in the Intellectual Property, Business Crimes and Government Investigations, and Brand Integrity and Innovation Groups, started at Sideman as an intern with the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in 2012. Prior to that he was in the agent training program in the Motion Picture Literature Department at William Morris Endeavor in Beverly Hills and worked in feature film development at K/O Paper Products and Twentieth Century Fox.

Mr. Fox attended Mansfield College, University of Oxford from 2004 to 2005 and went on to earn a B.A. from University of Michigan in 2006. He received his J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2014, cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Fox received the Dean’s Scholarship, served as Senior Notes Editor on the Hastings Law Journal, and received CALI and Witkin Awards for Excellence in Data Privacy, Appellate Advocacy, and Pretrial Practice.
