On September 9th 2022, Sideman Partner’s Alisa Won and Kelly McCarthy will be speaking at the Credo for Change. “Clean Beauty Workshop For BIPOC Entrepreneurs”. Joining other expert mentors and teachers, Alisa and Kelly will be leading the “Legal and Trademarks 101” two-hour session.
Credo for Change provides BIPOC beauty founders with the functional insights they need to advance their brand and expand their business in a retail store environment. The program will consist of segments on clean beauty importance, strategy and capital needed to grow a beauty business, sales and legal education, as well as network introductions to influencers and funders. This is the second year in a row that Alisa and Kelly have had the opportunity to work with the Credo team on this inspiring program.
About the Speakers:
Alisa Won works with beauty brands as business counsel from pre-fundraising to sale of their company. Her experience includes advising beauty brands on business and legal day-to-day issues, including equity grants and hiring or terminating employees, and also on transaction-based issues such as raising capital and engaging with potential investors.
Kelly McCarthy specializes in brand protection and development with a focus on clients in the beauty industry. She advises clients on a variety of trademark and brand protection issues, including matters involving product and corporate name selection, trademark availability and clearance, worldwide branding strategies, trademark related agreements including licenses management and prosecution of worldwide and US trademark portfolios disputes before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, domain name disputes and cybersquatting concerns, foreign, domestic and online anti-counterfeiting and enforcement measures, advertising, claims and promotions, and social media and Internet marketing issues.
