World Trademark Review has recognized Sideman & Bancroft’s Brand Integrity and Innovation Group (BIIG), the firm’s Managing Partner Jeffrey Hallam and partners Zachary Alinder, Ian Boyd, Béatrice Martinet, Kelly McCarthy and Richard Nelson in the 2022 edition of the “WTR 1000: the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals.”

This is the fifth consecutive year the firm and its attorneys have been named to WTR’s list of the top trademark law firms and professionals in 80 key jurisdictions around the globe. This year, the firm ranks among the best in California for trademark enforcement and litigation, as well as for prosecution and strategy. “Many of Sideman & Bancroft’s trademark experts garner glowing reviews from those who know them best,” WTR notes. The firm is also recognized nationally and has emerged as a brand protection powerhouse globally.

As individuals, Mr. Hallam, who in addition to serving as the firm’s Managing Partner co-chairs BIIG, ranks nationally and is praised for delivering “outstanding brand protection results,” which stem from “long-standing relationships” with clients whose issues he engages with “in the most proactive way.” In California, Ms. McCarthy, who co-chairs BIIG with Mr. Hallam, is recognized for “strategies that exponentially improve brand protection while strengthening clients’ bottom lines.” Ms. Martinet takes on “a high volume of complex matters and deliver[s] superb results in a short turnaround time.” Mr. Alinder resolves “highly complex, multi-jurisdictional matters in a cost-effective way.” Mr. Nelson, another co-chair of the group, is a “go-to for powerful strategies to deal with complicated IP enforcement matters.” And Mr. Boyd is a strong value add for many well-known corporations in traditional trademark infringement litigation and his notable niche expertise in TTAB and UDRP matters.

Each year, the WTR 1000 identifies the leading professionals and firms that are deemed outstanding at obtaining, protecting, managing, enforcing, and monetizing trademarks. The rankings – determined through an extensive research process consisting of written submissions, feedback from market sources, and four months of face-to-face and telephone interviews – are considered the definitive resource for those seeking world-class legal trademark expertise.
