Celebrating Firm Milestones in Lyon, France

During a historic week in Lyon, France as colleagues and peers from around the globe convened for the International IP Crime Conference, Sideman & Bancroft marked its own milestones in a truly memorable way.

On the evening of the conference’s first day, friends of the firm gathered at the family home of our partner Béatrice Martinet. The home carries a remarkable legacy: it once belonged to Béatrice’s great-grandfather, Dr. Edmond Locard — often referred to as “the Sherlock Holmes of France” and the founder of the world’s first scientific police laboratory. His pioneering work in forensic science was a key influence in establishing Interpol, headquartered in Lyon to this day.

Against this backdrop of history and innovation, we came together to celebrate Sideman & Bancroft’s exciting recent milestones: the opening of our Washington, D.C. office, the arrival of new partner Marissa Bostick, and other firm announcements.

The gathering reflected the spirit of our firm — rooted in tradition, yet looking ahead with growth and collaboration. With colleagues, clients, and friends joining us in such a meaningful setting, the evening in Lyon became a celebration of both our heritage and our future.
