Ellen P. Liu is an associate in the Litigation and Appeals group. Ms. Liu focuses her practice on business and intellectual property litigation in federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals. Ms. Liu’s representative matters have involved contract claims, business torts, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers, enforcement of intellectual property rights, civil conspiracy, securities claims, and trust disputes. Ms. Liu is a certified FINRA arbitrator.
Prior to joining Sideman & Bancroft, Ms. Liu was a law clerk for the Presiding Judge’s Department at San Francisco Superior Court, where she worked on trial and appellate matters.
Ms. Liu earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While in law school, Ms. Liu served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Maxine M. Chesney, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and the Hon. Jeffrey S. Ross, San Francisco Superior Court. Ms. Liu was a senior notes editor on the Hastings Law Journal and she received the CALI and Witkin Awards for Excellence in Antitrust and Pretrial Practice.
