Sideman & Bancroft Partner Alisa Won recently represented clean makeup brand ILIA Beauty in its series B financing from Sandbridge Capital and Silas Capital. The investment will be used to fund an increase in marketing and sampling initiatives, product technology and new hires.

“Alisa was instrumental in supporting ILIA throughout our series A and B,” said founder Sasha Plavsic. “It’s been an amazing experience with her, and we know we will continue working together for some time to come. I couldn’t imagine doing these without her.”

ILIA offers an assortment of clean, skin-centric makeup products that are made with certified organic ingredients and non-toxic synthetics, which are manufactured ethically and sustainably. In its coverage of the deal, WWD notes that the company has been doubling year-over-year and quotes founder Sasha Plavsic who attributes ILIA’s “extreme growth” in part to the “mainstreaming of clean beauty.”

“It’s satisfying to help scale a mission-driven company like ILIA that provides makeup that’s good for our skin,” said Sideman & Bancroft’s Alisa Won. “And working with a creative like Sasha and an experienced beauty executive like CEO Lynda Berkowitz is a true pleasure. Both are dynamic and pragmatic leaders who have strong instincts on deal issues.”

Alisa represents emerging and established companies in the consumer product, beauty, personal care, and health and wellness industries on financing, merger and acquisition transactions, and day to day corporate matters. In addition to her work for ILIA, she advises other clean beauty companies, including Youth To The People and LAWLESS Beauty. Alisa recently counseled LAWLESS Beauty on a growth equity investment.
